[#45 SPACERNIAK: "MÓJ AMBIENT - GODRA ALMANAK" - Jacek Andrzej Pełka]"SPACERNIAK"

"In the first thirty minutes of the jog, I didn't feel anything. Images flashed before my eyes and quickly detached themselves from me, disappearing into the distance. My mind was focused only on one goal that I had been waiting for a long time - today I was going to cover a distance of twenty kilometers. Would my body withstand this test? My legs were sprightly, and nothing hurt, but was I really ready for this challenge? I am thirty-eight years old, but I remember the times when running was easier, and nothing bothered me. I have to concentrate, ignore the pain that awaits me, and move forward. In front of me was an old railway station that now served as a residential building. I also passed 'Ton Grube' on the right-hand side and then ran along the asphalt through the field, crossing an unguarded railway crossing. Heavy freight trains often passed through here, carrying building materials extracted from the nearby open-pit mine 'TONGRUB'. The first village on my route was MOSCHHEIM, where I passed a woman on a bike with a child and an older man walking a dog. For a moment, I ran along the river, then turned left, passing a wooden bridge and entering the forest.

The forest was my favorite place to run. The fresh air, silence, and peace that prevailed there always helped me to relax and gather my strength. I took off my headphones, which had been playing music for me, and focused on my breathing. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale... The running pace gradually increased, and I felt the blood rushing through my veins. I now felt the pain, but I didn't let it defeat me. I had to endure another ten kilometers, and then I could rest deservedly.

After an hour of running, I emerged from the forest onto open space where I still had to overcome a few hills. My legs were already heavy, and my lungs were working at a high speed. I felt my strength fading, but I didn't give up. Finally, I saw the finish line in front of me, which was a large, white signboard with the inscription "20 km". I had finally achieved my goal!

It seemed to me that I wouldn't have the strength to do anything else, but then I remembered that what distinguishes runners is their ability to overcome limits. This was my next limit, which I managed to cross. I felt fulfilled and proud of my achievement. After all, what gives us joy is not just the goals themselves but also the journey we have to go through to achieve them."
